President Kennedy's Speech Before The American Newspaper Publishers Association
by Bangalore intranscript:.
i. the very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings.
we decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it.

@jwfacts: You know what arrogant and ignorant have in common?
ANT
That's what witlesses are, ants.
Think about it, WTBT$ runs a lot like an ant colony, and the R&F are just the irritating worker ants at the worlds picnic.

What does the Bible really say about abortion?
by matt2414 induring the current election campaigns for president in the united states, women's health care and reproductive rights have been targeted by conservative candidates in an effort to appeal to evangelicals and religious extremists.
keeping in mind that in the u.s. a pregnancy can be legally terminated as long as the embryo or fetus is not considered potentially viable (not able to survive on its own or with artificial aid) outside the womb, what does the bible say about abortion?
are the arguments of jehovah's witnesses and other religious fundamentalists sound in this regard?.

I agree with Terry, there is far too much gray area.

I was one of the posters who mentioned the numbers from the two-day ass-em-bleed.
Our circuit and district have been on a constant decline for decades; most baptisms are children with a few converts here or there.
The last converts in our conned-green-nation were baptized last summer, the previous one's were over ten years ago and only one remains. The husband in this "new" couple is all ready starting a slow fade and his wife is trying, but I don't see her lasting a long time either.
Out of all the kids I grew up with (approx. 20) only 6 remain and three of those, whether they believe or not, live double lives.
So I have every reason to question WTBT$ statistics on growth; I truly believe someone's in the book kitchen doin' some cookin'.

Are major earthquakes on the increase??
by Vanderhoven7 ina jw writes as proof that 1914 is key.... the newencyclopdiabritannica (1987) lists 63 major historical earthquakes spanning the past 1,700 years.
of this total, 27, or 43 percent, have struck since 1914. the book terranonfirma, by professors gere and shah, has a list covering a longer period.
of the total significant earthquakes in that list, 54 percent have taken place since 1914. even granting that records from past centuries are incomplete, we cannot escape the conclusion that in our time mankind has been greatly affected by earthquakes.. does anyone have access to the the newencyclopdiabritannica (1987) or info that would either support or refute the above allegations.. .

I watched too many of my friends get married that either settled, went for the provider (sugar daddy) or were just plain horny. Only a few of them are still together and they are some of the most miserable people I know; however they refuse to separate because God, I mean wash-towel hates a divorcing.
UGH!
This is why I'm still single.
I know I'm not the easiest person to get along with; I'm picky, type A, stubborn and opinionated. I refuse to settle and can take care of myself, so why do I NEED to be married? Why the hell should I get married if I'm happy with my life just the way it is?
I wish more people understood there are far worse things than being “alone”, namely being with someone and wishing you were alone.
Besides if you aren’t ok by, or with, yourself, no other person (man, woman or child) is going to change that; you must be complete first.
Thanks for listening and sorry for the rant, the marriage issue just gets my undies in a bunch.

If two people love each other why shouldn’t they be able to get married? I've always said if no one is being hurt then to each his/her own; what right do I have to judge them?
Equality is impartial whether you, I or anyone else likes it or not. When you fight for egalitarianism it means you also fight for an equivalence you may not agree with; just like free speech, it protects all speech even if you don't like it.

They lied against their own doctrine and put Jesus in God's shoes and also hinted to the trinity in paragraph 6!
They said the spirit of Jesus did not permit them and Jesus used the Holy Spirit.
According to wash-towel the Spirit (holy spirit) is Jayhoovers active force, not Jesus'. Jayhoover uses this spirit, not Jesus.
So either their doctrine is a lie and the statements are true or their doctrine is true and these statements are a lie.
Do you see the catch 22 corner they backed themselves into?

Notes from 2 day assembly - "Thought Control"
by baltar447 inthese notes were sent to me from a close friend who is biding his time to leave.. some of this we have read about already, the demo with the two brothers and the damage control they are doing over the ridiculous generation nonsense, but the thing about "thought control"tm i had not heard before...... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
you learn something new every day at the 'sembly.
today at the 'sembly we were educated on the importance of, and i quote, "practicing thought control" .

The two day was a truly a sickening spew of lies.
The number baptized was only 6 out of 1097, that's only .55% (only 2 were adults, the rest were children).
With stats like this where is the supposed growth coming from?
I would not be surprised if someone was "cooking the books" on growth.

Never having received a birthday greeting from your parents.
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. inmy wife turned fifty five the other day and i pen this from her perspective.. "happy birthday".
a harmless, yet meaningful expression of recognition from one's parents that they appreciate having brought you into the world.
for many it is a special day to be remembered, and to acknowledge that you are remembered.. in all her years of life my wife has never been given a birthday greeting from her parents.

Never got any happy birthdays form my parents, but my unbelieving grandparents always gave us money.
The screwed up part is my parents would not allow them to send it in a "birthday" card; yet it came on our birthday, they always wrote happy birthday in the card and we got to keep the money.
Say whaaaa?
How is getting a funny card with happy birthday hand written in it any different?
And
The last time I checked, money could be thought of as a gift, so why did they allow the birthday "gift"?
They did this at christmas too!
